Wark capital is dead5/12/2023 ![]() ![]() So, she endeavored to whip these tired concepts into a new narrative, custom-built for a supposedly new world-historical stage. The hacker (as a political class) appeared in 2004’s Hacker Manifesto, the détournement of Marx in her Situationist “non-trilogy” which culminated in The Spectacle of Disintegration.īut, even for a critical theory éminence grise like Wark, simply making sausage out of your old shit isn’t going to get the books moving off the shelves. For example, the notion of the vector, central to Capital is Dead, originally appeared in Virtual Geography in 1994. ![]() ![]() The bulk of the chapters are culled from talks and previous essays, and the operative concepts have all appeared in her previous works. Such self-scavenging is a typical practice in academic publishing, to be sure, but Wark’s performance here is particularly egregious. Every element of this book has appeared elsewhere. This thesis-though Wark herself is only ever comfortable calling it a “thought experiment” or “minimally plausible argument”-is a clever slogan, regurgitating the entirety of Wark’s long and repetitive intellectual life and serving it up as a timely rumination on contemporary political economy. Nowhere in the book’s excruciating length will you find any further nuance or qualification. ![]() What you need to remember about Capital is Dead: Is this Something Worse? is that the title is the thesis. Read Online The Death Club (Dead Men Walking, 1) EPUB by Caroline Peckham is a great book to read and thats why I recommend reading or downloading ebook. So I think I’m gonna join The Death Club and let my freak flag fly. Every day is anarchy and that’s my favourite flavour. Want to know another one? I quite like it here. Don’t ask them or they’ll send me back to that creepy asylum where they gave me the crazy pills. ![]() Which is a freaking insult by the way as I’m already the best killer in town. I can’t decide which I want most.Īnyways, my hot, tattooed, muscular insane Irish captor thinks I might make a good hit woman once he trains me up. He either wants to kiss me or choke me out. I call him Dead Man on account of his soulless eyes. Oh and there’s another dude down here who lives in a cage and doesn’t talk. I was kidnapped, sold, sold again, stuck in a death game, sold AGAIN and now I’m living in a serial killer’s basement. I wished for my life to improve, but it didn’t. I know killing technically doesn’t start with a C – but wouldn’t life be better if it did? Just like it would be better if the Devil was my boyfriend, Santa wasn’t a d*ck and I didn’t live under a bridge. ![]() Garrett by Linda Lael Miller5/12/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Long a passionate Civil War buff, Linda has studied the era avidly for almost thirty years. Enlightenment is not meant to be a distant spiritual goal, but something that we can choose to live at any time, by choosing love, kindness, compassion and wisdom over fear, judgement, anger or separation from the Source, the Divine Feminine, that seeks to nourish us so that we blossom into the fullness of our being. She guides us into our enlightenment, which is being able to live in harmony and unity with the Love that is, and surrendering into that Love. He wrote prose as well as poetry, epics as well as lyrics, was a master of metre, and fluent in many languages. Longfellow's verse was swept long ago from the school curriculum, but he was once, after Tennyson, the most popular poet in the English-speaking world. As for me, I loved the swashbuckling sound of "Wreck of the Hesperus", but years passed before I met the poem. But, like anyone else who had gone to school in the first quarter of the 20th century, she'd been introduced to verse by the venerable Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807-82). No, she wasn't a literary lady: she enjoyed "the flicks" rather more than books, and preferred knitting patterns to poetry. "You look like the Wreck of the Hesperus," my mother used to exclaim irritably, when I came in from play looking particularly dishevelled. ![]() Orphans of the Sky by Robert A. Heinlein5/11/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() Of course, there were the muties, grotesquely deformed parodies of humans, who lurked in the upper reaches of the Ship where gravity was weaker. Indeed, how could the Ship move, since its miles and miles of metal corridors were all there was of creation? Science knew that the Ship was all the Universe, and as long as the sacred Convertor was fed, the lights would continue to glow and the air would flow, and the Creator's Plan would be fulfilled. But he also understood this was actually allegory for a voyage to spiritual perfection. Hugh had been taught that, according to the ancient sacred writings, the Ship was on a voyage to faraway Centaurus. ![]() A fix-up consisting of the novelette Universe (1941) and the novella Common Sense (1941). ![]() |
